报告摘要  Abstract

Since the experiments of Reynolds in 1883, hydrodynamic stability at high Reynolds number has been an important and very active field in the fluid mechanics. This field is mainly concerned with how the laminar flows become unstable and transition to turbulence. To understand the transition process, Trefethen et al(Science 1993)  proposed the transition threshold problem, which is concerned with how much disturbance will lead to the instability of the flow and the dependence of disturbance on the Reynolds number. Recent studies show that many effects such as 3-D lift-up, inviscid damping, enhanced dissipation, boundary layer and nonlinear interactions play an important role in determining the transition threshold.  In this talk, I will introduce these important progress for 3-D Couette flow and Kolmogorov flow.


报告人简介:章志飞,北京大学数学科学学院副院长、教育部长江学者特聘教授。主要从事流体力学中偏微分方程的理论研究,在流体自由边值问题、流体动力学方程的适定性和稳定性理论、复杂流体以及液晶中的数学问题等领域取得了一系列重要成果:解决了有旋水波问题的适定性以及证明了长期公开问题“vortex-current sheet问题在Syrovatskij条件下的非线性稳定性”;证明了可压缩Navier-Stokes方程的Cannone-Meyer-Planchon定理;解决了可压缩Navier-Stokes方程光滑解爆破物理机制的Nash猜测;建立了液晶微观模型和宏观模型一致性的数学理论;首次在数学上对一类单调的剪切流证明了线性无粘阻尼。已在Comm. Pure Appl. Math、Comm. Math. Phys、ARMA、JFA、SIAM等著名数学期刊发表论文90余篇,2011年入选教育部新世纪优秀人才,2012年入选中组部首批青年拔尖人才支持计划,2014年获国家杰出青年科学基金,2017年入选教育部长江学者特聘教授以及科技部中青年科技创新领军人才。担任《数学进展》副主编、《Analysis in Theory and Applications》编委。
