2019 Winter Young Mathematician Forum

The 2019 Winter Young Mathematician Forum will be held during December 21-22, 2019 at the School of Mathematical Sciences at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The Forum aims to bring together outstanding young mathematicians to exchange ideas and promote communications in all areas of mathematics and statistics.
The School of Mathematical Sciences (SMS) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University was established in 1928, which has been one of the most vigorous, energetic and rapidly developed schools in the university. With the rapid development in recent years, the SMS has become one of the leading mathematical schools for research and education. One of the goals of this forum is to attract applications of the participants for the SMS positions which are listed in the links below. We encourage outstanding young mathematicians with great potential in academic research and teaching to submit the applications for attending the Forum. To apply, please register in our web system by clicking the “Register Now” button, and submit the CV online. The participants will be selected by our committee, and financial support for international travel and local expense of successful applicants will be provided by SMS.

Tenured Positions
The Shanghai Jiao Tong University, School of Mathematical Sciences, invites applications for tenured positions at the rank of Professor and Associate Professor, beginning in September 2019 or later. Candidates should possess a Ph. D in mathematics, and demonstrate outstanding accomplishments in both research and teaching, and leadership in their fields.
Salaries are competitive by international standard, and are based on credentials. Additional benefits, such as housing subsistence and startup funding, are also available.

Zhiyuan Assistant Professorships - Postdoctoral position
The School of Mathematical Sciences invites applications for Zhiyuan Assistant Professorships, to begin September 2020 or later. These non-tenure-track positions have an initial term of two years, and may be renewed for one more year, for a total of three years.
These positions are designed to provide young mathematicians with a favorable environment for career development in research and teaching. Zhiyuan Assistant Professors have a teaching load of one course per semester. Preference is given to candidates who receive their Ph. D degrees in 2018 or later.
Salary is competitive at the international level and commensurate with qualifications. Additional benefits, such as housing subsistence, are also possible.
