Master Program in Statistics
Major Research Areas:
1． Applied Probability
2． High-dimensional data modeling and analysis
3． Medical and biological statistics
4． Statistical process detection and diagnosis
Program Duration: 2.5 years
Credit Requirements: 28 credits
Qualifying Test: The candidates must pass the qualifying test organized by the department in their first two years before continuing their study
Thesis Requirement:Candidates must submit an acceptable thesis and pass an oral defense before getting his/her degree. The thesis should be able to demonstrate that the student has achieved a good understanding of his/her topic/area.
Public Course Requirement: After registering in the master program of statistics, the international student must take one of the two compulsory public courses--Chinese or Chinese Culture.
If students of this program pass a qualifying exam in the fourth semester, they can be transferred to the Ph.D program in Statistics in the fifith semester.
