Title: Amenable groups and the Garden of Eden Theorem
We introduce the notions of subshifts and their entropies. We then state and prove the Garden of Eden Theorem for amenable groups. (Time permitting, we shall also discuss its linear version) We shall also discuss counterexamples for the non-amenable case and Bartholdi's theorems (yielding a characterization of amenability in terms of cellular automata).
