Combinatorics Seminar 2013

Home || Link

My seminar is for high school students, decent undergraduates, bright graduates, and outstanding professors.

What New Things will Come from Mathematics? I want to mention two of them. The first new thing is a very old one and has been on the backburner of mathematics -- it is combinatorics.

Unlike our other combinatorics seminars held regularly during the semester on more specific topics for a research focus group, this seminar will be held irregularly and will mostly target a wide audience, including both fresh undergraduate students and experienced researchers. The main theme of this seminar is combinatorics, especially algebraic combinatorics. We hope that the talks in this seminar will be of interest to anyone who likes mathematics and we will be happy if this seminar helps to create a conversation among some interesting people who are doing many interesting things.

Usually, the talks will be arranged during Saturday 09:45 - 12:00 and the venue will be the middle meeting room of the mathematics building. We will have one or two speakers each time. The speaker may be a faculty/student at SJTU or a vistor to SJTU.

You are very welcome to contribute a talk or participate in a talk in this seminar. If you have any queries/comments on this seminar, please contact Eiichi Bannai (bannai@sjtu.edu.cn) or Yaokun Wu (ykwu@sjtu.edu.cn).
